Only users with owner or admin roles can invite other users to join the organization. If you are an owner or an admin, you can invite as many users as the subscription plan of your organization allows. The number of available Users can be found in the Users section of your organization account.
Users can be invited to join the organization on a one-by-one basis or by using special organization invitation links, that can be shared with them via email, intranet or the like, allowing self-registration in the organization. In the first scenario, the administrator can specify all the permissions and projects that the user is allowed to use upon registration.
To invite users individually the owner or administrator will start this process by clicking the “Invite user” button:
Then the owner or admin will need to insert the BigML username of the users that will join the organization, assign them a role, and wait until that person accepts your invitation:
When many Users need to be invited, the best option is to use the Self-Registration Invitation Links, available in the Organization configuration view
(https://bigml.com/organization/<OrganizationName>/users).
The self-registration links can be shared with new or existing users as required, and each link serves one kind of scenario: New users that need to register in BigML and join the Organization, and existing users already registered in BigML that only need to join the Organization. Both can be disabled or regenerated anytime.
Additionally, the owner or admin can decide to automatically assign a new private project to every user that joins the organization. For that, the owner or admin will need to activate the switch shown below, available in the Users section of the organization account.
When active, all users that join the organization will automatically get a private project. As a result, restricted members will only be able to work on their own private and public projects, while the rest of the users will be able to create and delete additional projects freely.
Users enrolled in an organization will be able to switch from their personal account environment to the organization environment using a selector in the Dashboard. Notice that an individual can have more than one account in BigML, and each account is associated with a separate workspace. Additionally, users can be enrolled in one or more organizations, and each organization environment is a totally independent workspace with its subscription conditions. Please read more about the differences between your individual workspace and the organization's environment.
To learn more about the invitation process please read the Inviting Users section of the Managing Users in the Organization chapter of our organizations' Dashboard documentation for more details.
